Belgian Style Barn

This contemporary home which resembles a collection of Belgian style barn -like buildings is located on a hilltop site with panoramic views of the city. The blocks are situated to open out towards the city to encompass the best of the views. The central section is set back to create a sheltered external space connected to the kitchen and facing west.
 
The Italian rustic grey/tan coloured brick contrasts with the terracotta rosemary tile clay roof to warm the appearance of the building on this exposed location. The roof is dominant with long overhangs to reduce solar gain through the extensive aluminium framed glazing. It is simple in form and in detail to ensure durability for years to come.
