Homify – More space thanks to modern cultivation

Another interesting read on Homify, featuring one of out designs.

More space thanks to modern cultivation.

To be able to move smoothly through all the rooms, to have sufficient freedom of movement and to be surrounded by a tasteful interior, characterises the dream of modern living. In order for this to work, not only has enough space to be available, but the device must also be chosen in such a way that colours, shapes and surfaces create a harmonious coexistence. A project designed by the architects at DES EWING RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTS in London shows how this can look like.

The facade

22

This facade is characterised by the exciting blend of different materials and shapes. While the entrance with its tapering roof is classic and surrounded by natural stones, a modern cube rises in the background. The entire facade has been designed with a lot of glass, which makes the house open and the living area and exterior space melt into each other.

The living room

23

This living room exudes the pure comfort. From here, a view into the green garden invites you to dream. At the same time, natural materials such as leather and wood underline the connection that has already been created visually to the garden. In the living room, a brown, cuddly soft carpet covers the floor. The room is dominated by the white leather couch, which is inviting and elegant at the same time. A delicate grey chair creates additional seating and loosens the ensemble.

The dining area

24

Kitchen, living and eating are openly connected. Between the living room and kitchen is the dining area, which is equipped with a large wooden table. There are stylish black chairs around it, the colour and style of which are picked up by the three hanging lights above the table. The heads of the dining table, however, are furnished with cream-coloured leather chairs, which harmonise with the colour of the kitchen as well as with the materials of the living room, thus contributing to smooth transitions.

The kitchen

25

The kitchen is separated from the living and dining area with a huge kitchen island, into which a stove was let. The modern hood extractor hood not only ensures that fragrances and vapours do not get into the living room, but also ensures interesting lighting effects. In addition, the kitchen island with its many drawers offers space for numerous kitchen utensils.

The terrace

26

What rises like a large cube from the front goes into a spacious terrace, which is initially hidden by the entrance area. Huge terraces and windows make the connection between the living room and the terrace marginal and one who stands in the evening in front of the brightly lit rooms, has the impression of being right in the middle. On the upper floor, on the other hand, the large windows allow that a lot of natural light can penetrate during the day, but in the evening delicate curtains protect against unwanted impressions.

Homify – Elegant single-family house!

Great article on one of projects on Homify! Although written in German, don’t let that stop you reading it! Below you can see the translated version.

Today we gave you the project of our English architecture expert Des Ewing Residential Architects which you could also imagine very well in Germany. The clients wanted a house that exudes classic elegance while still providing the comfort, design and energy efficiency of a modern home. We’ll show you the impressive result.

Exterior Terrace

16

The outside area and the environment should play an important role in the design. That is why the architects decided to create generous window areas to, ensure fantastic views and seamless transitions between indoors and outdoors, as well as numerous possibilities to use the outer space. In addition to two spacious terraces, there is the beautifully landscaped garden, a generous driveway and a balcony at the back of the upper floor.

The Entrance

12

We change our viewpoint a bit and now we see the driveway to the right of the house, which leads to the imposing entrance area. The front door is flanked by elegant columns and protected from wind and weather by a canopy. On closer inspection, we can see that the building was built on a hillside site, which falls rather steeply backwards.

Golf course

14

And so it looks on the back of the family house. From here the inhabitants can enjoy spectacular views into the valley thanks to the large windows. Here, in a raised position, a second terrace was laid out dedicated to the passionate hobby of the clients: An artificial golf course in small format invites you to relax in the fresh air. There is also another balcony, through which glass walls a magnificent view of the surroundings.

Kitchen

13

The interior of the house reflects 100% the exterior: here too, a harmonious, balanced blend of modern design and classic elegance was set. Here we see the open kitchen, which, with its handle-less fronts, the large island in the middle and the high-tech equipment makes a thoroughly stylised impression and lacks nothing in terms of comfort and function. Details such as the huge orchid pot, the round chandelier and the art collection of the clients lend the house a personal, stylish, luxurious touch.

Living room

11

Finally, let’s take a look into the living room, which is classically elegant and comfortably furnished and is flooded with natural light thanks to large windows on several sides.
